Communication
The Los Nietos School District uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:
- Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification
- Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6pm
- Communicate in your preferred language
- Comment on school postings to engage with your school community
- Direct message teachers, staff and other parents
- Participate in group messages
- Sign up for parent-teacher conferences
- Sign forms & permission slips, receive report cards and more all from your desktop or mobile device
Dear Families,
We are excited to share an important update regarding communication within Los Nietos School District! To increase communication consistency and ensure a more unified approach across all school sites and the district, we are transitioning to a single communication platform—ParentSquare.
This change means all communication from the district, school sites, and teachers will now come through ParentSquare. By adopting this platform, we aim to simplify communication for our families and ensure a seamless experience as our students transition to high school, as the high school district our students feed into also uses ParentSquare.
ParentSquare is a powerful, all-in-one communication tool designed to keep parents and guardians informed while encouraging greater engagement and connection with our schools. This platform allows district administrators, school principals, teachers, staff, and parents to:

- See calendar items
- Sign up to volunteer
- Schedule parent-teacher conferences
- ...and much more, all in one centralized place!
For parents, getting started is easy. Download the ParentSquare app (available for free on iOS and Android devices) for added convenience. You can also access all district, school, grade-level, and classroom information via email and/or text directly on your computer or phone.
If you have questions about using ParentSquare, click the question mark in the top-right corner of the desktop version or access the Help tab in the app (tap the triple bar icon at the top left) to find answers to most of your questions.
