Nelson School Celebrates Student Academic Excellence on September 28, 2017

On September 28, 2017 Ada S. Nelson School recognized students who obtained scores in Language Arts and Math that met or exceeded the State standards. Superintendent Vasquez explained to the staff, parents, and students in attendance that Nelson’s school wide 2017 scores exceed both State and County averages in Language Arts and Math. Superintendent Vasquez and School Trustee Cathy Martinez thanked the staff and Principal Duncan for their commitment to student success and involving parents in the their children’s educational success.

 

After Superintendent Vasquez was through addressing the attendees, Principal Duncan invited the third through fifth grade teachers up to the front of the assembly to help pass out the certificates and medals. The sixth grade students who are now currently at the Los Nietos Middle School will be given their awards at an assembly later this month at the middle school.

 

The Los Nietos School Board of Trustees and Superintendent Vasquez were pleased to announce that for the third straight year scores in both Language Arts and Math increased in the District. Over the past three years the District’s Language Arts and Math scores have increased by almost double-digits proving that the instructional programs in the district are delivering the 21st-century skills necessary for student success.
