On May 25, 2016 the Los Nietos Board of Trustees invited all Los Nietos employees to the annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon at the Santa Fe Springs Town Center. Superintendent Vasquez welcomed all employees and thanked them on behalf of the Los Nietos Board for their hard work and dedication during the 2015-2016 school year.
Superintendent Vasquez announced that eighth grade math and science teacher, Desiree Chavez, was selected as the 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year.
Superintendent Vasquez also took time to recognize three retiring employees (Araceli Flanagan, Adela Camacho, and Carroll McCrory), and thanked them for their combined 67 years of dedicated service to the Los Nietos School District community.
At the end of the event Superintendent Vasquez wished everyone a safe summer break before the staff participated in a raffle that was sponsored by SELAC, LNTA, CSEA, the Los Nietos Nutrition Services Department, Aeolian’s PTC, Rancho’s PTC, Nelson’s PTC, and the PTC from the Los Nietos Middle School.
