On December 18, 2015 the Aeolian School community came together to celebrate the dedication of their new school mural. Renowned muralist, Jeanine Hattas, completed the mural in the span of two weeks with the input from the Principal Becky Speh, Aeolian PTC parents, and the Aeolian students. The mural depicts the world of 21st century learning all Aeolian students receive once they pass through the school gates and enter the world of technology, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Principal Speh addressed the school community to thank Ms. Hattes as well as her sister, Julie Kennedy, who also participated in the completion of the mural. Principal Spec invited a student from each classroom to speak about what they liked about the mural. Lastly members of the Parent Teacher Club (who provided funding for the mural) and PTC staff advisors, Rick Gallardo and Stefanie Young, were thanked for their hard work in making such a beautiful piece of art a reality at Aeolian School.
Superintendent Vasquez, Director of Curriculum and Instruction Cardenas, and School Board Trustee, Emilio Sosa, were on hand to celebrate with the school community their new beautiful work of art.
