On May 26, 2015, the Los Nietos Board of Trustees hosted the annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon at the Santa Fe Springs Town Center. Superintendent Vasquez and Board President, Nick Aquino, welcomed all Los Nietos School District staff to the luncheon and thanked them for their many contributions that helped make the 2014-2015 school year a very successful year.
Teacher of the Year for 2014-2015, Christina Fontenot, provided a very inspiring speech about what it meant to her to have her life enriched by having the ability to work with so many quality students in her career in the Los Nietos School District. Additionally, the 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year finalists (Rick Gallardo and Joe Nevarez) were recognized before Carlee-Anne Moyer was introduced as the 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year.
Superintendent Vasquez also took time to recognize three retiring employees (Arleen Tovar, Olivia Velasquez, and Angie Vega), and thank them for their many years of dedicated service to the Los Nietos School District community.
At the end of the event Superintendent Vasquez wished everyone a safe summer break before the staff participated in a raffle that was sponsored by SELAC, LNTA, CSEA, the Los Nietos Nutrition Services Department, Aeolian’s PTC, Rancho’s PTC, Nelson’s PTC, and the PTC from the Los Nietos Middle School.
