On March 12, 2014 the Los Nietos School Board held their regularly scheduled School Board Meeting at Rancho Santa Gertrudes School. This year the Los Nietos Board of Trustees scheduled four regular meetings to be held at each of the four school sties in the district. On February 13th, the Los Nietos Board of Trustees met at Aeolian School. Additional school site Board Meeting dates are scheduled for April 24th at Ada S. Nelson School, and May 8th at the Los Nietos Middle School.
At the March 12th School Board Meeting, Principal Octavio Perez showcased the new computer lab that was put in this year for all of his students to utilize. Classrooms have been signing up weekly to attend keyboarding lessons, as well as preparing for the new Smarter Balanced Assessments that all third through sixth grade students will be taking this year.
In addition to the computer lab, Principal Perez showcased the “Healthy Los Nietos Mural” that was painted outside of the cafeteria this year. The cost of the mural was provided by the school’s Parent Teacher Club (PTC), and is the second of a proposed three school murals to be completed at Rancho.
The Los Nietos School Board congratulated Principal Perez and his staff on their dedication to increasing access to technology for all of his students, and providing an after school art club for his students and parents.
