On September 26, 2013, the Los Nietos School District began free parent education classes for Los Nietos Parents. Sponsored by the Pacific Clinics Counseling Agency, about 20 parents attended the first class entitled: What is Counseling?/Therapy?
Dr. Maribel Contreras, who is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for Pacific Clinics, conducted the meeting and will be conducting the remaining four sessions.
For several years the Los Nietos School District and Pacific Clinics have successfully partnered to provide support to the students and families in the Los Nietos Community. School-based mental health professionals have been working at the Los Nietos Middle School for over five years.
Parents were excited to attend the first meeting and asked many meaningful questions about how counseling support services work and how Pacific Clinics works together with the Los Nietos School District to provide mental health services.
