Aeolian Parent Teacher Club Hosts a Spectacular Spring Carnival on May 31, 2013

On May 31, 2013 the Aeolian School Parent Teacher Club (PTC) hosted a spectacular school carnival for the students and parents of Aeolian School. The PTC has been working and planning nonstop to insure the Aeolian community was treated to fun, food, music, and smiles aplenty. The Aeolian PTC used the event to highlight community organizations such as the Pico Rivera Sheriff Department who conducted fingerprinting of the children, doctors from the Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, the THINK Together afterschool program, Stone Soup daycare, and many other community organizations. Entertainment was provided by the Pioneer High School Drum Line, a beautiful singing grandmother, Folklorico dancers, and the THINK Together Cheerleaders to name just a few of the performers.

Parents cooked tacos, hotdogs, and BBQ sandwiches for a very appreciative and hungry community. All proceeds of the event went to the Aeolian PTC fund that helps support student activities and enrichment activities. Principal Speh welcomed Board members Marisa Hernandez, Silvia Monge, and Food Service Director, Kurt Chou, who worked the grill for the Aeolian parents. Assemblyman Tony Mendoza also showed up to wish the Aeolian Community a healthy fundraising effort.

Although there were many special memories of the day, seeing Principal Speh getting dunked in the dunk tank by a HUGE line of students was definitely the highlight for many happy and smiling children. Thank you Aeolian PTC, parent volunteers, and Aeolian staff members for giving such a celebratory event to the Aeolian children!
