All LNSD Teachers Participated in Professional Development at LNMS on May 28, 2013

Approximately 70 teachers and their site principals from all four
schools in the Los Nietos School District participated in a
districtwide professional development opportunity entitled, “Flipping
PD: 21st Century Learning to Meet the Diverse Needs of all Students.”
The session was presented by Dr. Keith Myatt from School Improvement
Network. School district faculty learned how to use the PD360 online
training that enables them to watch demonstration lessons to implement
curriculum and instruction. In addition, they will be able to create
individual pathways for students’ learning and their own professional
learning at their pace.

Dr. Mary McNeil, Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services,
described that technology is the key to learning in the 21st Century
and having access 24 hours a day to professional learning is a key
element to meeting the needs of all students. She shared how teachers’
access to technology has been a goal that she set out to achieve since
she began her tenure with the district 4 years ago. By the end of this
school year, all teachers will have the tools to integrate 21st Century Skills in technology into the classroom.
