Dr. Mary McNeil Honored as the ACSA Region XV 2012-2013 Robert Gray Service Award Recipient on April 29, 2013

On April 29, 2013 Los Nietos School District Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Mary McNeil, received the prestigious Robert Gray Service Award at the ACSA Region XV Spring Awards Dinner. The Robert Gray Service Award is the highest honor ACSA Region XV can present to an individual. This award is made in memory of Robert Gray, who was involved in the formation of ACSA, an umbrella organization for seven organizations, which became operative July 1, 1971. Bob Gray was Region XV’s first president in 1971-1972. Robert Gray became region consultant in 1976 and he retired from that position in June 1993. At the time, the Region Board voted to honor him with an annual award in his name. He was the first recipient. This award recognizes an active ACSA member dedicated to public education and the ACSA organization.

Last year Dr. McNeil was recognized as the California State ACSA Central Office Administrator of the Year. Superintendent Vasquez stated, “ It has been an honor and privilege to work with Dr. McNeil these past four years. She is a consummate professional who makes those around her more mindful, dedicated, and empowered through her respectful and thoughtful mentoring and leadership.” Surrounded by her family, and Los Nietos administrative staff Dr. McNeil gave a heartfelt speech that encapsulated her more than 30 years as an educator.

The Los Nietos School Board, administration, and school community congratulate Dr. Mary McNeil for being recognized by her peers as the ACSA Region XV Robert Gray Service Award winner for 2012-2013.
