Los Nietos School District Administrators Honor Deputy Frank Carrillo for his Community Service on 2/28/13

On February 28, 2013 the Whittier Area School Administrators held their annual Community Service Awards Breakfast to honor local heroes making a difference in the lives of children. The Los Nietos School District administrative team was pleased to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of Deputy Frank Carrillo, who is a deputy with thirteen years of experience working with the Pico Sheriff Station. For the past four years Deputy Carrillo has worked as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at Pioneer High School, and in that capacity has also provided ample support and assistance to the Los Nietos Schools.

Deputy Carrillo was surprised when Los Nietos Middle School Principal, Jacqueline Cardenas, informed him that Los Nietos wanted to recognize him as this year’s Community Service recipient. However, all administrators felt strongly that Deputy Carrillo has made a tremendous impact at our schools through his accessibility, professionalism, and willingness to help our schools.

As an on-call “volunteer” School Resource Deputy for the Los Nietos School District, he has made a tremendous impact on increasing safety and security on our school campuses. Los Nietos School Superintendent, Jonathan Vasquez, thanked Deputy Carrillo for his collaboration with our school administrators on school safety plan revisions, clarification of penal code regulations, and for providing training to staff on how to respond to emergencies.

His wife, Juanita, and his Lieutenant, Steve Sanchez accompanied Deputy Carrillo, at the recognition breakfast.

The Los Nietos School District gladly recognizes Deputy Frank Carrillo as the 2013 WASA Community Service recipient.
