At the December 13, 2012 Los Nietos School District Board Meeting, the Los Nietos School Board held their annual reorganization of the Board election. Congratulations were given to new Board President Marisa B. Hernandez, Vice-President Nick Aquino, and Clerk Art Escobedo.
Several presentations also were part of the December 13th school board meeting. Field Deputy to Supervisor Don Knabe, Andrea Avila, presented scrolls of appreciation to the three Los Nietos School District principals (Becky Speh, Marla Duncan, and Octavio Perez) that had their students selected to have their artwork featured in the annual Hometown Heroes luncheon program.
Superintendent Vasquez gave a presentation on the partnership with Presbyterian Hospital entitled the “Healthy Los Nietos Project”. Director of the medical residency program at Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Virag Shah, was on hand to answer questions about the project. See attached presentation for more information.
Assistant Superintendent of Business, Doug McMasters, was on hand to present his First Interim Report. Mr. McMasters after making his detailed budget analysis recommended to the Board to approve the first interim report and the “positive certification”, which means the District is able to meet its financial obligations for the next three years as required by law. The school board thanked Mr. McMasters for ensuring that he continually maintains a solid budget for the Los Nietos School District. See attached presentation for more information.
Lastly, the Los Nietos School Board surprised Superintendent Vasquez by presenting him with an award of appreciation for his dedication and commitment to the community of the Los Nietos School District. With appreciation Superintendent Vasquez thanked the Board for the unexpected recognition, and recognized and thanked his administrative team for their support and dedication to the Los Nietos Community.
