Los NIetos Middle School Holds 7th Grade Orientations on 8/22/12

On August 22, 2012, Los Nietos Middle School Principal, Jacqueline Cardenas, conducted the first of two scheduled 7th grade orientation meetings for new parents and students. Because the Los Nietos Middle School is finishing completion of summer construction work, the orientation meeting was conducted at the Ada S. Nelson School cafeteria.

Speaking to a packed cafeteria of students and parents, Principal Cardenas explained the academic accomplishments of the Los Nietos Middle School staff and students over the past four years. With pride she talked about the almost 150 point API growth the Los Nietos Middle School has achieved in the past four years. Additionally, the Los Nietos Middle School received a perfect State Similar score ranking of “10” for the second year in a row this year.

In addition to the academic programs, extracurricular activities, and discipline procedures, the school’s community partnerships were also discussed. At the conclusion of her PowerPoint presentation, Principal Cardenas took questions from the parents and students before parents were released to purchase PE clothes for their new Los Nietos Middle School students.
