On July 7, 2012, the Los Nietos School Board of Trustees took a tour of the Los Nietos Middle School to get an update on the construction project taking place this summer as part of the Measure M Bond Initiative. The Measure M Bond Initiative asked Los Nietos residents to authorize the Los Nietos School District to “upgrade classrooms and security, improve safety and school sites, renovate outdated restrooms, and replace roofs by issuing up to $31,140,000.00 in bonds”.
Along with Superintendent Vasquez, the Board of Trustees saw first hand the amount of construction taking place within the school grounds. The project is currently on schedule as the replacing of underground pipes, wiring, and plumbing fixtures are proceeding as planned. When completed the Los Nietos Middle School will also have a single point of entry in the front of the school for parents and visitors to use during school hours.
The Los Nietos School Board of Trustees was pleased with the progress-taking place, and expressed happiness that the children and staff of the Los Nietos Middle School will have a more secure and updated infrastructure when school begins on September 6th.
