Ada S. Nelson School graduates 41 Parents from the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) Classes on 12/13/11

On December 13, 2011, Ada S. Nelson School celebrated the graduation of 41 parents from the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) parent workshop. Principal, Marla Duncan, welcomed those in attendance to the celebratory event as family and friends sat in the Nelson cafeteria. The night was highlighted as parent graduate guest speakers (Erika Gonzales and Jose Huizar) spoke of how meaningful the 9-week parent class had been in their lives. Los Nietos Board members, Marisa Hernandez and Ray Chacon, were in attendance to congratulate parents on their accomplishment and wish them continued success.

After the guest speakers addressed the audience, Principal Duncan, Superintendent Vasquez, and Martha Adams, PIQE Associate Director, passed out certificates of completion to the graduates.

At the end of the ceremony the graduates and their families celebrated their accomplishment by enjoying a potluck meal with one another. Congratulations to the 41 Nelson parents for their hard work and dedication to learning ways to increase their children’s ability to attend college in the future.
