Los Nietos School District Holds Blood Drive for LNTA Co-President Alvina Shonborn on 11/10/11

On November 10, 2011, the Los Nietos School District hosted the City of Hope Blood Drive unit in District’s Board Room. The Blood Drive was being held in support of Los Nietos Teacher Association Co-President, Alvina Shonborn who has been battling cancer for the past year. The City of Hope provided free of charge all of the necessary equipment, including beds. Teachers, assistants, classified personnel, and parents from all four school sites came throughout the day to show support for Mrs. Shonborn and donate blood which will be used in a “blood bank” on her behalf.

The Los Nietos School District is proud of the strong academic achievement displayed at all four of our schools. However, it is the character of the employees stepping forward to help a fellow colleague in need that is also a great source of pride. We wish Mrs. Shonborn and her family hopes for a speedy recovery, and send them the best wishes and the support of the entire Los Nietos School District!
