On November 9, 2011, Aeolian School opened up the school cafeteria to host a spectacular Family Math Night. Teachers hosted different math stations as parents rotated with their children to learn fun and exciting math strategies and games to use at home. By making math accessible and fun, Principal Amber Lee-Ruiz and her teachers were trying to make math an activity that parents and students can do at home that will help reinforce the California math standards.
Judging by the appreciative students and parents in attendance, the strategies that were taught by the Aeolian staff will definitely be used in the homes of the Aeolian families.
