Los Nietos MIddle School Staff Make 7th and 8th Grade Student Field Trip Presentations at the Los Nietos School Board Meeting on 9/14/11

At the Los Nietos School Board meeting on September 14, 2011, Principal Jacqueline Cardenas and her staff presented on the 7th and 8th grade field trips that took place during the 2010-2011 school year. Select seventh grade students for the second straight year were able to attend the Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI) this past April. CIMI advisor, Carlee Ann Moyer, made a presentation to the Board on the exciting and educational experiences the students and adult chaperones had during their 3-night stay at Catalina Island.

Los Nietos Middle School Counselor, Cindy Tortarolo, gave a riveting presentation on the 14 8th grade students who attended the Washington DC and New York City trip that took place in late May of 2011. During the 4-night trip students were amazed to be able to visit such sites as: Arlington Cemetery, the White House, the Washington Monument, the U.S. Capital Buidling, the Vietnam Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and were excited to watch the Lion King musical on Broadway.

Principal Cardenas explained that a 2012 parent field trip information meeting at the Los Nietos Middle School would be held on September 29, 2011 at 6:00 PM.

After the field trip presentations, Principal Cardenas explained to the School Board all of the exciting instructional practices that are being put into place to ensure the Los Nietos Middle School’s 2012 goal of an API Score of 805 becomes a reality.
