On August 12, 2011, the Los Nietos School District, having been established on August 12, 1861, celebrated its 150th Anniversary as a School District. To commemorate the historic occasion the Los Nietos School District held a dedication ceremony to unveil the new Los Nietos alumni paver walkway as well as a plaque to signify the commitment the District has had to students of the Los Nietos community for the past 150 years.
Former Board members, past and present Los Nietos employees, and members of the Whittier Chamber of Commerce were in attendance.
