At the Los Nietos School Board Meeting held on May 11, 2011, Trustees acknowledged and honored student and staff achievement this year. Students who participated in the 2010-2011 Students Run Los Angeles (SRLA), MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Achievement), Cheerleading, Basketball, and Soccer teams were recognized for not only their participation in the extracurricular activities but also for their medaling in local competitions. Principal Cardenas and staff advisors Mrs. Cojohn, Mr. Duran, Mrs. Sanchez, and Mr. Chavez beamed with pride as their student’s hard work and dedication was recognized by the Los Nietos School Board and District administration.
During the presentation, there was standing room only as proud parents watched and took pictures of their children receiving certificates of participation from the Los Nietos Board. In addition to recognizing the students in attendance, the Los Nietos Board congratulated the Los Nietos Staff and student body for receiving a Similar School Rank of “10” by the California Department of Education.
After the presentation a short recess was called so the Board could congratulate personally the students, parents, and staff in attendance.
