The Los Nietos School District takes bullying behavior very seriously by hosting a community forum on 4/12/11

The Los Nietos School District takes bullying behavior very seriously.

We want every student to feel a sense of belonging and personal safety in our schools.

Thank you to all the parents, community and staff members who attended the parent meeting on the topic of “Bullying” on April 12, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Los Nietos Middle School Auditorium. The Instructional Services Department sponsored this workshop to help families better understand the impact of bully behavior and Los Nietos School District’s focus on eliminating all of these behaviors in all of our schools.

David Marquez, from the Parent Education Bridge for Student Achievement Foundation, provided tips for the audience on how to identify and prevent bullying. He identified some specific bullying behaviors; discussed the impact of these bully behaviors for a bully, victim, and bystander; and provided ideas on how we all can work together to help prevent bullying. The presenter not only informed parents about the characteristics of bullies, but also gave parents practical tips to share with their children on dealing with bullies. The Parent Education Bridge for Student Achievement Foundation’s Mission Statement is “To bring together volunteers, teachers, and professionals in the community for the purpose of educating parents and increasing student achievement”.

The Los Nietos School District’s motto, “All Students Will Learn” ensures out continued focus to provide the very best, high quality programs in a safe school environment that ensures student success. Together we can make a difference!
