On December 15, 2010, the band students at Los Nietos Middle School gave a rousing musical performance to a packed auditorium of family and friends. Under the musical direction of Mr. Carey Furnish, the 7th grade beginning band students performed 12 songs while the 8th grade intermediate band performed 5 songs. The middle school's parent teacher club provided refreshments for the students and parents in attendance.
At the conclusion of the concert school board members Aquino, Hernandez, and Escobedo spoke to the parents about their commitment to providing and maintaining enrichment programs at the Los Nietos Middle School. Additionally the school board members wished parents a safe holiday season and invited those in attendance to the next Los Nietos 150th event at Nelson School on January 22, 2011.
