On December 10, 2010, Rancho Santa Gertrudes School presented a Winter Music Program at the Santa Fe Springs Activity Center. Students from kindergarten through second grade sang songs, performed choreographed routines, and wished the packed auditorium of family and friends a joyous New Year! Principal Octavio Perez and 5th grade teacher Ms. Avina were the masters of ceremonies for the evening.
The Rancho Parent Teacher Club sold taco dinners, pastries, and hot cocoa to the hundreds of parents waiting to hear their children sing and perform.
The highlight of the evening was an unexpected visit by Santa Claus who wished all the children and family members in attendance a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! As he was leaving the event, the sounds of "Ho! Ho! Ho!" could be heard throughout Santa Fe Springs.
