During the week of October 25, 2010, schools in the Los Nietos School District celebrated Red Ribbon Week. Each school participated in activities with the students that reinforced the importance of living a drug-free and healthy life.
The city of Santa Fe Springs sponsors an annual parade and invites local schools to participate. This year the Rancho Santa Gertrudes 6th grade students and teachers participated in the parade representing Rancho Santa Gertrudes School.
Additionally, Board President Art Escobedo and Superintendent Jonathan Vasquez represented the Los Nietos School District.
