Dear Families:
The Los Nietos School District (District) has spent the summer preparing for the 2021-22 school year, and I am pleased to inform you that our staff and schools are prepared and excited to welcome your children back to full-time in-person learning in the Fall semester. The processes and protocols we have worked diligently to set in place will provide a welcoming and safe environment for our students to learn, engage, and grow. Through these efforts, we are confident that a successful year lies ahead.
As we enter the new year, I want to remind our families that the health and safety of our students, staff, and Los Nietos community will remain a priority. The District carefully tracks and follows public health requirements and will continue to do so throughout the academic year. I want to remind our families that the District will require masks for all students, staff, and visitors on all campuses and in all classrooms at all times. Students are allowed to remove masks during recess and while eating their breakfast and lunch. If a student cannot wear masks due to a disability or medical condition, we ask for a doctor's note stating that. Before dropping their child off at school, parents will need to self-attest that their students do not have fevers and do not have any COVID-19 symptoms. We are happy to say that students will be returning to recently modernized facilities to best provide them with the tools they need to be successful. The school closures allowed our District to focus on facilities updates such as the Media Center at Ada S. Nelson Elementary and various improvements at Rancho Santa Gertrudes Elementary School. We look forward to seeing our school children enjoy these new amenities.
