PhotoShare Opportunity to Shape the History of Unincorporated Whittier posted August 17, 2016

As part of the Whittier Unincorporated Heritage Project, various local public Los Angeles County libraries are hosting PhotoShare events. All you need to do is take your historic photos (before 1980) to the PhotoShare event at one of the hosting libraries and your photos will be converted into high-quality digital images. We know Los Nietos to be well represented with your support.

Parent Education Classes

The University Is Not A Dream, It's A Plan

Los Nietos Middle School in collaboration with PROedu will host a series of informational meetings for parents of current 7th and 8th grade students.

These workshops are designed to inform and support parents and students in the transition to the next school year and preparation for higher education.

Starts March 30th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Classes will be offered in English and Spanish

SOY UN PADRE EN LA ERA DIGITAL #2

FREE Computer classes for beginner and advanced users. Come learn about basic computing, using email, and responsible Internet use. Classes begins Wednesday, February 17 from 9:00-11:00 am at Ada S. Nelson. This computer class is especially designed for district parents with or without computer experience. Classes are offered in Spanish.

These classes are free for parents and guardians. Free childcare

PROedu offering I AM A PARENT IN A DIGITAL WORLD

Starting September 9th, PROedu will be offering a 10 week Computer classes for the Los Nietos Families. The classes will be held primarily in Spanish at Ada S. Nelson Elementary School every Wednesday's at 9:00 a.m. and concluding at 11:00 a.m. FREE Child Care provided.

Local Control Funding Formula and Accountability Plan

The Local Control Funding Formula is the State's mechanism to allocate funding to school districts. The LNSD has created a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) with members of its learning community to include staff, students and their families, and community members. A Public Hearing will be held on June 27, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. You are encouraged to attend to provide input on our instructional plan and budget (LCAP). A copy of the LCAP is available from the Superintendent's Office at the Los Nietos School District Office (8324 S.
