At the June 16, 2015 Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meeting, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to fund a $7 million dollar Los Angeles County Public Library to be built at the corner of Slauson and Duchess avenues on the property of the Los Nietos Middle School. The Los Nietos School District and the LA County Public Library have been in negotiations for over a year regarding the proposed 10,000 square foot library, which is more than double the size of the current Los Nietos Public Library. The joint-use agreement between the Los Nietos School District and the LA County Public Library was approved at the April 23, 2015 Los Nietos Board Meeting, and with today’s approval of the agreement by the Board of Supervisors the construction of the library will become a reality.
