On August 28, 2014 Principal Shanonn Brann Zelaya and the Los Nietos Middle School Staff welcomed parents to “Back to School Night”. Principal Brann Zelaya welcomed the parents, introduced staff, and invited parents to attend the many booths that were assembled providing valuable information about the upcoming school year. Once Principal Brann Zelaya finished her introductions and invitations to parents to join the Parent Teacher Club, School Site, Council, and English Language Advisor Committee, parents were invited to visit their children’s classrooms and meet the teachers.
The Los Nietos Middle School staff did an outstanding job of explaining the curriculum this year as well as explaining how the Common Core State Standards are going to be implemented. Teachers reassured parents that they were prepared to help all students transition successfully to Common Core State Standards and that they would be available to answer any parent questions through email or individual appointment.
