On September 29, 2017 Sonia De Anda was recognized as the Los Nietos School District ‘s Teacher of the Year at the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) Teacher of the Year luncheon. Last May Mrs. De Anda, a Nelson School Teacher, was selected to be the 2017-2018 Los Nietos Teacher of the Year by a committee of her peers. Superintendent Vasquez said, “Mrs. De Anda exemplifies the very best of the teaching profession in the Los Nietos School District. She is passionate, caring, and has a willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure her students are academically successful.”
Joining Mrs. De Anda at the luncheon were members of her family, Nelson School colleagues, Principal Duncan, and Superintendent Vasquez. The LACOE Teacher of the Year recognition program recognizes teachers in all 80 school district in Los Angeles County. The Los Nietos School District is pleased to have Mrs. Sonia De Anda represent the Los Nietos School District for the 2017-2018 school year.
