Los Nietos School District (LNSD) School Nutrition Program-Title 7, Federal Regulations

Child nutrition programs are essential to the academic success of students.  A child’s food intake directly affects his or her capacity to learn. LNSD provides nutritious breakfast and lunch to students enrolled in all four of LNSD schools: Aeolian Elementary School, Ada S. Nelson School District, Rancho Santa Gertrudes Elementary School, and Los Nietos Middle School. Monthly school menu is posted on LNSD Website. The nutritional standards for school meals, please refer to Dietary Guidelines for American.

Beginning August 2020, LNSD is operating Community Eligibility Program (CEP). Under CEP All meals - breakfast and lunch are provided at no cost to all elementary students on every school day without filling any meal Benefit application. Beginning October 1, 2022, Adult meal prices are: Breakfast @ $4.50 per meal and Lunch @ $5.00 per meal. LNSD also provides nutritious supper to students participating in LNSD after-school program at no cost as well.  All cafeteria staff are working very hard to service LNSD students with well-balanced meals that contain low fat, low cholesterol, low sugar, low sodium, and high in multiple vitamins.  With the great efforts we are devoted, it is our hope that the LNSD students will have less chance of developing some famous chronic diseases (e.g., congestive heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetics, etc.) when they turn to adulthood.
