Los Nietos School District Officials and LA County Supervisor, Don Knabe, Participate in LA County Library Groundbreaking Ceremony on November 14, 2015

On November 14, 2015 the Los Nietos School Board welcomed LA County Supervisor, Don Knabe, and LA County Library officials to the Los Nietos Middle School as a groundbreaking ceremony took place for the new Los Nietos LA County Library which is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2017. Interim County Librarian, Yolanda DeRamus, acted as the Master of Ceremonies for the event introducing guest speakers and Supervisor Knabe. LA County Supervisor Knabe thanked the Los Nietos School Board and Superintendent Vasquez for partnering with him to bring the new $7 million dollar library to the residents of the Los Nietos community. Los Nietos Board President, Nick Aquino, thanked Supervisor Knabe for his efforts and his “Project Libraries” initiative that dedicated $45 million dollars to build new libraries in communities in the Fourth District, the District Supervisor Knabe represents.

After the short dedication ceremony, Supervisor Knabe took pictures with the various groups in attendance: Los Nietos School Board, Los Nietos District employees, Los Nietos Alumni, and representatives from the Los Angeles County Library system. Throughout the ceremony a local mariachi group performed setting a festive tone for all in attendance.

The Los Nietos School Board would like to thank Supervisor Knabe on behalf of the residents of the Los Nietos community for making the new $7 million dollar public library a reality.
