Los Nietos School District Board of Trustees Approve District Mission/Vision Statements and 2015-2016 Board Priorities on August 13, 2015

At the August 13, 2015 Los Nietos School Board meeting, the Board of Trustees voted to approve the updated Mission/Vision Statement of the District as well as the 2015-2016 Board Priorities. Each year the Board of Trustees reviews and revises the District’s priorities to best support students and their families, staff, and our school community. The four priorities focus on preparing students for college and career readiness, implementation of the new California Standards, spending wisely to maximize resources, and updating facilities and technology upgrades that will engage our 21st Century learners.

School Board President, Nick Aquino, expressed appreciation to Superintendent Vasquez and his team for facilitating the yearlong process that was taken to update and revise the Mission and Vision statements of the Los Nietos School District. President Aquino and the other Trustees felt confident that the new Mission and Vision Statements were truly reflective of the culture of the Los Nietos School District.

District administration and Los Nietos School District Board members met to review and give input to changes in the Mission and Vision statements before it was shared with staff and parents for their input. Los Nietos Trustees reviewed the final draft before ultimately approving the Mission and Vision Statements on August 13, 2015.

Posters of the Mission and Vision statements as well as the 2015-2016 Board Priorities will be displayed in each classroom this year.
