On June 6, 2015, the City of Santa Fe Springs sponsored a “Family Fun Run/Walk Health and Safety Expo. Los Nietos staff participated in the event by walking or running the three-mile route that began and ended at the Lake Center Athletic Park.
As part of the Healthy Los Nietos Program, the parent health advocacy group, Promotoras de Salud in Action” supported the Santa Fe Springs Health event by running a booth and providing health awareness lessons. The Promotoras worked in collaboration with PIH Health Community Benefits program prior to the event in order to provide comprehensive and informative health information to the participants of the Health Fair. This was the second event that the Promotoras participated in this year, having participated in Santa Fe Springs' “Family Night Out” early last year. All who attended and participated in the “Family Fun Run/Walk” had a great time and are looking forward to next year’s event!
