On September 16, 2016 Desiree Chavez was recognized as the Los Nietos School District’s 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year at the annual Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) luncheon held in Universal City. Mrs. Chavez was recognized along with the other District Teachers of the Year winners from the 82 school districts in Los Angeles County. Mrs. Chavez, an 8th grade math teacher at the Los Nietos Middle School, has been a teacher in the Los Nietos School District for 16 years.
Joining Mrs. Chavez to help celebrate her special day was her husband (William) and son (Luke), Los Nietos Principals Shannon Brann-Zelaya and Becky Speh, and LNTA Co-Presidents Erika Rose and Christina Fontenot.
The Los Nietos School District would like to congratulate Desiree Chavez for being recognized as the Los Nietos Teacher of the Year for 2016-2017.
