Downey Hospital Medical Residents Join Healthy Los Nietos Collaborative on June 15, 2016

On June 15, 2016 the Los Nietos School District hosted a “Healthy Los Nietos” collaborative meeting to plan for the 2016-2017 school year. Superintendent Vasquez and Los Nietos Principals Becky Speh, Marla Duncan, Octavio Perez, and Shanonn Brann-Zelaya were in attendance as health goals for the new school year were discussed and a new work plan for the 2016-2017 school year was developed.

Members of the LA County Department of Public Health, City of Santa Fe Springs, PIH Community Benefits Program, PIH Family Residency Program, Think Together, Dairy Council of California, Promotoras de Salud in Action, and AltaMed were some of the health organizations in attendance at the planning meeting.

The Los Nietos School District was pleased to announce that Downey Hospital would be joining the HLN Collaborative and providing medical residents to support the students at the four schools alongside the PIH Medical residents this year. PIH Health merged with the Downey Regional Medical Center and is now known as PIH Health Hospital-Downey.

The Los Nietos School District looks forward to working with the PIH Health Hospital-Downey medical residents and providing them with an opportunity to provide health screenings to the students of the Los Nietos School District.
