On April 16th, community members at all four schools in the Los Nietos School District participated in the City of Santa Fe Springs “Fun Run/Walk and Health and Safety Expo”. This is the second year that the City of Santa Fe Springs has sponsored the event for the local community as part of their health and wellness initiatives. Los Nietos principals Shanonn Brann Zelaya and Octavio Perez also participated in the event along with staff members and the Healthy Los Nietos “Promotoras de Salud in Action” team members. Los Nietos Nutrition Services Department Director, Kurt Chou, provided refreshments for the Expo participants who were running the informational booths.
All participants who finished the three-mile course received t-shirts and medals to commemorate their dedication to leading a healthier lifestyle.
