Los Nietos School District Hosts Bountiful "Feed the Families" Event on December 19, 2015

On December 19, 2015 the Los Nietos School District hosted their annual “Feed the Families” food basket give-away. The event has been going on for more than 10 years as the District has partnered with the South East Los Angeles Consortium (SELAC) to provide food baskets for some of the most needy families in the Los Nietos community. Los Nietos School Board Trustees Nick Aquino and Art Escobedo founded SELAC as a way to provide additional support to the Los Nietos community.

This year was made especially blessed by the inclusion of other community partners that helped make the annual event truly bountiful. The Los Nietos School District Board of Trustees and Superintendent Vasquez would like to thank the following community partners for their donations of toys, food, and volunteer hours:

-SELAC for canned food, produce, and chicken for 100 families.
-Aeolian School staff members and PTC members for raising $2,000.00 for toys and canned food.
-Nelson School parents, students, and staff for their donations of canned food.
-Rancho School parents, students, and staff for their donations of canned food.
-Los Nietos Middle School parents, students, and staff for their donations of canned food.
